| Religious ignorance + terrorism = poor results |

We are lucky that, for the most part (the obvious 911 attacks as the exception) terrorists are deeply religious. That means they shun modern science and reject western learning. They are massively incompetent, having spent a bit too much time sitting in a mosque not really learning anything, and cannot make a bomb work right. (In the shoe, underwear, or toner cartridge form.) Good thing we don't have metallurgists and explosive experts after us, is my point. Or worse still, mechanics.

being deeply religious and being ignorant hasn't much to do with eachother..check out (extreme)evangelists.
It kinda surprises me that the set up for this specific attack wasn't a suicide bombing and the attacker actually planned to get away with it.
It probably will be hard for the muslim community there to stop 'pitchfork' demonstrations on their doorstep, hope the flyers do some good.
